U.S. Soldier killed by IED

Multi-National Division – South PAO

BASRA, Iraq – A Multi-National Division – South Soldier died when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle in the Basra Province at approximately 2 p.m. May 10.

The Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The name of the service member will be announced through the U.S. Department of Defense Official Website at http://www.defenselink.mil/.

The announcement will be made on the website no earlier than 24 hours after notification of the service member’s family.
