Second rocket attack lands near Basrah reservoir

CONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE BASRAH, Iraq – For a second day in a row, rockets fired in Basrah landed in the vicinity of a central Basrah water reservoir. The latest attack occurred around 9 p.m., Feb. 23.
Iraqi Security Forces from the 52nd Brigade, 14th Division – trained by U.S. Forces – investigated the site near the University of Basrah where criminals fired the rocket.
Evidence was gathered at the scene and results of the investigation are pending.
The first rocket attack occurred in the early morning hours of Feb. 22. No injuries were reported in either attack.
The IA unit that responded to the rocket attack was advised by a U.S. Army Advise and Assist Brigade.
