BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces arrested two suspected terrorists Monday during a joint operation conducted in northwestern Mosul to capture a suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq member believed to be behind multiple vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attacks in the northern Iraqi city.

In accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government, ISF and U.S. advisors searched two residential buildings for the wanted AQI member.

Following preliminary questioning and an initial examination of evidence at the scene, ISF arrested two suspected criminal associates of the wanted individual.

U.S. forces will continue to partner with Iraqi officials to ensure terrorists who threaten the security and stability of Iraq are brought to justice under the Iraqi justice system.
