MND-B patrol struck by improvised explosive device
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO


BAGHDAD — One Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was killed when a roadside bomb detonated near a patrol during combat operations in a southern section of Baghdad June 15. Three other Soldiers were wounded in the attack. 
 
Elements from this unit recently detained nine suspects allegedly involved in a roadside bomb-making cell.  This operation is vital as it is designed to disrupt insurgent activity by targeting improvised explosive device-making cells in order to provide the Iraqi citizens a more safe and secure environment.
 
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
