Sulaymaniyah Graduates Instructor Trainers

SULAYMANIYAH, Iraq – Seventeen police officers graduated from instructor development training, also known as advanced “train the trainer instruction,” Dec. 3 here.

Training began Nov. 15 with a seminar on the principles of adult learning. During the three-week course, officers received 18 instructor development lessons. Training focused on instructional methods, learning goals and objectives, lesson plans development, and facilitation skills. Practical exercises consisted of oral presentations recorded on video for critique, and a written final exam.

Upon completion of their formal written lesson plan, students demonstrated progress in their confidence, speaking, and in presenting their training content.

These police officers of the Sulaymaniyah Police Training Academy will help the police forces become more self reliant as they continue to build and reinforce a self sustaining training base.
