Suspected Promised Day Brigade leader, 2 alleged criminal associates arrested during ISF joint operation

BAGHDAD – Iraqi Security Forces arrested a suspected Promised Day Brigade (PDB) leader and two alleged criminal associates during a joint security operation conducted in Diyala today.

ISF and U.S. advisors searched several buildings for the suspected PDB leader allegedly responsible for planning attacks against coalition forces.

Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the warranted individual and two suspected PDB criminal associates.

All joint operations are conducted pursuant to a warrant issued by an Iraqi judge.

ISF and U.S. advisors conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
